Fall Bag Limits
General
One per day, three per license year, no more than two of which may be taken in the fall.
2026 Archery and Fall Firearms Season
One per day, either sex may be taken.

Waterfowl Hunting Packages
Puddle duck hunts:
Half-day hunt, up to 4 hunters per blind: $1,200

Bag Limit
Daily Bag Limit: Daily Bag Limit: 6 ducks of any species except for the following restrictions: can include no more than 4 mallards (only 2 hen mallards), 3 wood ducks, 2 black ducks (except closed Oct. 9–12), scaup: 1/day for 40 days (October 9–12, November 18–29, December 19–January 11), and 2/day for 20 days (January 12–31), 2 redheads, 2 canvasback, 3 pintails, 1 mottled duck, 1 fulvous whistling duck, 4 total sea ducks (no more than 3 scoters, 3 eiders [only 1 hen], 3 long-tailed ducks).
Hours
- One-half hour before sunrise until sunset.
Closed season on harlequin ducks.
The possession limit is three times the daily bag limit. No person may take more than one daily bag limit in any one day.
Swan
2026-2027 season dates: November 15-January 31
Monquin Creek Guided Swan Hunt: $600 per permitted hunter
*Since swan hunt permits are drawn each year, Monquin Creek does not reserve dates for swan hunts, nor do we take deposits for swan hunts. However, we do have a wait list for hunters interested in a guided hunt if they are successful at obtaining a permit. Please reach out to us directly if you are interested in being put on our list for a guided swan hunt.

Dove Hunting Package

First Segment
September 5–October 24
Hours
- September 5: Noon until sunset
- September 6–October 24: One-half hour before sunrise until sunset.
Second Segment

Third Segment

Hours for Second and Third Segments:
- One-half hour before sunrise until sunset.
Bag Limit
15 per day, 45 in possession. Composed of mourning doves and white-winged doves, singly or in combination.
*Please note: ALL hunters who plan to hunt migratory birds (including dove and woodcock) must be registered with the Virginia Harvest Information Program (HIP) in addition to having a valid Virginia hunting license. Please visit DWR’s website to learn more and to register for HIP.
