Meet Chip
Born and raised as a farmer’s son in Manquin, Virginia, Chip has lived his entire life as an avid outdoorsman, developing a passion for hunting at an early age, and learning what it takes to be a good steward of the land. Throughout his life and early career in agriculture, he realized the richness that lies in sharing experiences afield and learned things that proved to be invaluable for creating and protecting wildlife habitats. This lifestyle led him to volunteer with conservation organizations to help get others engaged in the outdoors and improve environments where wildlife can thrive. Eventually, with his longstanding reputation in the outdoors combined with encouragement from his closest mentors, Chip was inspired to establish Monquin Creek.
After more than a decade since Monquin Creek was established, Chip still aspires to serve and lead others to experience all that the outdoors has to offer and to create fond memories afield, all while conserving habitat to ensure future generations have the same opportunities. This is what he defines as success for Monquin Creek.
History
Monquin Creek officially became an operating business in the state of Virginia and North Carolina in 2010, when we began purchasing and renting land to expand hunting opportunities across the state. Upon guiding, Monquin Creek became more engaged in organizing hunting opportunities that focus on veterans, youth, and the underprivileged, and by volunteering to coordinate hunting opportunities with partner organizations, including organizing events for Wheelin’ Sportsmen.
Since then, our business has continued to offer additional services including the expansion of land management services and consulting. In our continued growth, we recently partnered with numerous other businesses in the state to offer lodging amenities for clients looking for an extended stay and a renowned experience of Virginia.
As we look to the future, we aspire to expand Monquin Creek to be a full-circle resource in our community—from hosting a broad range of events to educating and protecting wildlife for the future.
